Minimum Qualification and Experience
• BSc Metallurgical/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial and/or other relevant Supply Chain degree and MDP or MBA as well as 7 years related experience
• You must show strong forecasting and planning competencies, in-depth knowledge of stainless steel Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and financial acumen, along with outstanding communication and negotiation skills, diplomacy and attention to detail. To perform optimally, you will need knowledge of materials, production and products (steel), strong administrative skills and knowledge of conditions of purchase and conditions of contract. Responsibilities
• Manage the planning and procurement of all commodities, spares and consumables needed in the stainless steel making processes.
• You’ll also be tasked with the management of the Supply Chain to ensure an uninterrupted supply of spares and materials to the business in the most cost-effective manner and compliance with stock to optimum levels.
• Negotiate and implement Stores Inventory agreements, perform market research and continuous evaluation, and develop and optimise supplier relationships.
• Duties within the approval/authorisation framework will also be expected. A highly specialised role indeed, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of all raw material, consumables, spares and commodities procurement and logistics concepts.
• Further required will be knowledge of pyro-metallurgy, mechanical and electrical maintenance, global sourcing and import, contract law and escalation calculations, as well as commercial processes and procedures, production, maintenance and support area processes and critical supplier production processes
