Key Purpose
To enable and operationalise the strategic initiatives of the business unit and to provide high level support to the Head of The department in the execution of his responsibilities.

Key outputs
• Input to strategic debate and design that informs the direction and deliverables of the business unit.
• Detailed research and analysis to provide substance to the ideas and direction of the executive team

Project management of strategic initiatives
• Compilation of presentations for delivery

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
As a Strategic Business Manager you will:
• Participate in strategic debate and take ownership of projects that support the realization of our strategy
• Be responsible for complex problem solving and implementation of appropriate solutions
• Have access to the innovators across the group and take responsibility for delivering change effectively

Through the challenge of the work and your exposure to strategic debate, you will be motivated to raise your game to the level at which Strategic Managers operate.

Education and Experience
The following requirements are essential:
• Formal tertiary qualification in Business Management or related, at the Honours level or higher, with a strong technical communication or business focus
• A Bachelors' Degree/Honours degree in Business Management or a similar field (MBA is advantageous)
Proven record of academic excellence
• Client centered
• Six to ten years’ business experience, ideally in a leadership role
• Extensive business and/or technical experience with a proven track record of innovation, entrepreneurship, delivery and performance.
