Strategic/ Channel Account Manager

role requires strategic account management with an emphasis on managing and supporting the channel base. The Channel Manager wins, maintains, and expands relationships with channel partners.
You will be required to create and sustain a close relationship with the Business Partners that make up the channel. This diverse role necessitates assisting Business Partners from creating business plans to campaign planning and ensuring that the marketing plan leads to achieving budget targets. Your prior experience in managing staff will ensure that the channel team will be effective in achieving the desired outcomes and goals, which leads to the collective budget.
The main tasks and responsibilities include:
Assisting resellers by recommending the best solution for their clients according to the client needs.
Communicating the latest product releases and special offers
Daily follow up calls to resellers to track progress of quotations.
Daily calls to the resellers linked customers to generate sales.
Assisting resellers with pricing and customer quotes.
Achieving 100% of monthly personal targets.
Contributing to reaching 100% of team target
Maintaining product mastery and knowledge.
Assist in coordinating and presenting product end-user and business partner events.
Meeting with resellers to discuss and maintain their business/campaign/marketing planning – with a firm grip on best sales practice techniques
Ensuring the above plans are followed through on and monitoring this process

Persistence is vital to the sales cycle and therefore to the successful candidate.
The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
Relationship building forms a major part of this role, and therefore you will require solid people skills

Skill requirements:
A sound knowledge of business principles and software sales
An understanding of the sales cycle and excellent selling skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and working knowledge of Word
Thorough product knowledge of the Pastel Accounting range – Xpress/Partner/MyBusinessOnline with a working knowledge of Pastel Evolution.
Certification on Partner and Xpress
Technical Knowledge on the Pastel product stack
Leadership skills to guide the channel team to meet objectives of team activities
Previous experience in a call centre is an advantage
As the position requires you to discuss business plans with resellers, it is vital that you have tertiary education in a relevant business degree/diploma or similar working experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in business English.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly express objectives and outcomes in a meeting or to an audience.
Proven track record of consistently meeting your current performance criteria
