The company is a leading supplier of formwork and scaffolding solutions to the Civil and Construction sector and is looking to employ a Civil/Structural Design Engineer.

Roles and Responsibilities
• To produce general arrangement drawings of formwork using AutoCAD
• To attend meetings with Sales Engineers giving accurate advice regarding formwork solutions to Customers
• To accurately quantify lists of materials
• To produce detailed assembly drawings
• To perform calculations independently
• To manage projects effectively
• Ensure that our Customers receive excellent service
• Ensure excellent administration of filing and records
• To design optimally and economically using stock on hand.
• To have good knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding formwork and scaffolding
• To design with integrity ensuring no adverse structural events
• To price specials and calculate rates for hire when necessary
• To manage and lead projects effectively to conclusion.
• To design using knowledge and understanding of application of special structural steel for formwork from first principles
• To ensure excellent administration including accessible filing and records
• To facilitate active Technical coaching, mentorship and learning of a high quality
• To keep up-to-date with new trends


Skill Set
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in Structural design
• Experience in AutoCAD and/or PERI CAD
• 8 years’ experience as Draughtsman/Designer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially MS Excel
• Ability to perform advanced calculations independently and read and understand PERI charts
• Thorough knowledge of general construction practice
