Our Engineering Client in Durban is looking for a qualified structural engineer in the Durban Office who performs technical tasks connected to structural engineering as well as the design and construction monitoring and maintenance of buildings and various other structures. This is not a Senior Position

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Must have a BSc/BEng Civil Engineering degree
• Pr. Eng. will be an added advantage
• Minimum 4 years’ experience
• Experience in Structural Engineering projects

Main Responsibilities:
• Assist design and project teams for projects.
• Responsible for productivity and project quality for own task and tasks of other team members
• Technical guidance of junior staff on common projects.
• Ensure appropriate technical standards and codes are applied on projects.
• Ensure the QMS is implemented on all projects and as appropriate to role being fulfilled.
• Ensure that all projects are undertaken within company productivity norms.
• Undertake investigations and designs, prepare feasibility reports, design reports, drawings (for report, tender and construction stages), tender documentation, report on tenders
• Assist the engineer for construction administration and monitoring activities as required.
• Adhere to project approval procedures and quality plans in line with the company policies and ensure risk areas are adequately mitigated, and corrective procedures implemented.
• Assist line management by providing excellent client service, proper task planning and administration (including Proman administration), accurate designs and high-quality drawings.
• Produce cost-effective design and contract documentation (if required).
• Exercise administrative and technical responsibility and authority for allocated tasks
