Structural Resident Engineer Durban Kwa Zulu Natal

A Structural Resident Engineer is needed for the Durban Region to be based on Site on a full-time basis and provide site supervision services on behalf of the client and perform other relevant duties.

This is a Contract position as per Project – Salary Very negotiable

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• BSc/BTech Civil Engineering degree
• Pr. Eng /Pr. Tech
• Minimum 15 years’ experience
• Experience in Structural Engineering pertaining to both Engineering and Building projects, reinforced concrete, post tensioned concrete, contract administration, piling, diaphragm walls, sheet pile walls, retaining walls, water proofing, and knowledge of the JBCC suite of documents.
• Experience with/knowledge of Municipal services will be an added advantage.

Main Responsibilities
• Monitor the construction work on site, Attending to site meetings and site instructions.
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship.
• Ensures appropriate technical standards are applied on projects. Ensures the QMS is implemented on all projects and as appropriate to role being fulfilled. Ensure that all projects are undertaken within company productivity norms.
• Undertake investigations and designs, prepare feasibility reports and design reports, Tender documentation, report on tenders.
• Assist the engineer for contract administration and monitoring activities as required.
• Adhere to project approval procedures and quality plans in line with the company policies.
• Ensure risk areas are adequately mitigated, and corrective procedures implemented.
• Assist line management by providing excellent client service.
• Proper task planning and administration and Accurate designs and high-quality drawings.
• Produce cost-effective design and contract documentation (if required).
• Exercise administrative and technical responsibility and authority for allocated tasks
