SUPERINTENDENT DEVELOPMENT (3 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
The position is responsible to oversee all Lift II Development work to ensure targets are met safely and effectively. All work carried out is to follow relevant statutory and site requirements. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Supervising, coordinating and controlling the activities of direct subordinates on a daily basis.
• Maintaining and improving safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
• Evaluating compliance to legal standards.
• Development and implementation of standards and procedures
• Liaising with Client to coordinate plans to fulfill set targets.
• Ensuring that all personnel are following safety procedures.
• Ensuring that all personnel are conducting their jobs efficiently and effectively to gain optimum performance.
• Communicating with critical suppliers to ensure good service/goods delivery to the development contractor in terms of Palabora supplied items.
• Ensuring that all Safety Hazards and Incidents are dealt with immediately.
• Liaising with the current (Lift 1) operational personnel in terms of logistical support as well as coordination of activities that can influence either/both the current underground operation and the project.

• Budget planning and cost forecasting
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to set standards and enforce them
• Positive safety attitude that is able to be transpired to improving safety culture of team
• Ability to lead and control.
• Advanced level of computer literacy including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Project and Change Management skills

Qualifications & Experience
• BEng/BSc/BTech Mining Engineering (Advantageous)
• Mine Overseer Certificate
• Attended training for: HIRM 2 & 3;Permit to Work; Fire Fighting Awareness; Resqpak,Taproot Lite and Goal Zero Learning Program
• Change Management experience
• Minimum of 7 years’ underground experience covering all aspects of mining and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
