POSITION OUTPUTS:
The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
Business Performance & CI Analyse, compile and consolidate management reporting information documents and maintain general accounting policies and procedures.
Support BU Finance Manager in developing performance management processes through scorecard and KPI for BU's.
Support the BU Finance Manager with the capital management process.
Execute budget and forecasting activities to project, measure and fund operations, maximize investments, and increase financial efficiency.
Interpret and integrate information with organizational needs and operational strategic objectives.
Ensure achievement of the business case and ensure alignment to, and measurement against, set targets.
Financial Management Analyse Management Accounting needs and develops budgets to ensure sufficient financial resources according to strategic and operational requirements.
Assist financial manager in setting financial targets and cascading it down to operational level (KPI's).
Financial tracking of targets to ensure business improvement.
Evaluate and analyse gaps between targets and actual performance assist business partners where to focus energy.
Track financial targets and report to management.
Establish commodity groups to ensure total commodity cost is driven down.
Continuous Improvement Identify and provide support in the evaluation, implementation and management of systems and processes to meet identified organisational needs.
Actively pursue the exchange and preservation of information between operations and individuals to facilitate effective knowledge management according to organisational objectives.
Responsible for the audit process and continuous improvement of all the Management Accounting operations. This includes keeping abreast of new leading practices, software developments and technologies in terms of Performance Management.
Compliance, Governance and Assurance Execute and implement responsibilities in adherence to legislative and corporate governance principles.
Make informed decisions and recommendations regarding existing policies
Manage the risk and consequences of non-compliance.
Ensure all information and reporting has integrity and is in strict compliance with proper accounting principles and legislative requirements.
Ensure policies and procedures are in alignment with government legislation and charters (e.g. Mining Charter, BBBEE, etc.).
Effective People Management Act as change agent to foster an environment where people seek out better ways of operating the team and sub-team processes. Articulate, adopt, embrace and live the company values.
Customer and Client Relationship Management Manage internal and external relations, including the interface with service providers and applicable BU's, as well as other functions responsible to ensure that the business needs are met and employees are satisfied.
