PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manages the SHERQ systems to ensure that a risk-based compliance monitoring system is implemented and quality control procedures adhered to at operations.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Manage and implement the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with line management) for the continuous improvement of SHEQ management programme and systems.
Manage risk management systems to ensure that all SHEQ risks are identified and assessed.
To ensure the organization complies with current SHEQ legislation and approved codes of practice.
Respond to changes in legislation or operational requirements through the management of change process.
Provide SHEQ assurance to the Management team through audits and inspections.
Other responsibilities incidental to this role.

REQUIREMENTS
Tertiary qualification in Risk, Legal, Health & Safety Management or a related field (3-year degree or higher).
ISO / OHSAS / SHEQ Auditor’s qualification.
5 years’ experience in the management of ISO & OHSAS certification systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
Knowledge of ISO metric or a similar SHEQ monitoring system will be beneficial.
Working knowledge of MHSA and relevant SHEQ legislation is required.
Advanced Computer Skills.
