Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Technical Specialist Superintendent at their Regional Offices in Libanon near Westonaria.

The appointee should:

Have a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / IT
Have a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
Have at least 5 years’ experience as an ICT Systems Engineer
Have experience with Application Support, Incident & Problem Management, Configuration Management
Have the ability to effectively communicate with a broad base of end users
Have a good understanding of ICT risk management principles and insight into disaster recovery best practice
Have a very good understanding of Microsoft server and desktop operating systems and specifically Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DHCP, Microsoft Exchange and SCCM AND SCOM.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Pay attention to detail, and have a meticulous and well-organized work method
Display strong analytical, problem solving and presentation abilities
Have unquestionable integrity and work ethic
Be a team player, but show resourcefulness and leadership abilities in producing deadline-driven results
Must have a valid SA driver's license with own transport
Willing to travel if and when required
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirements:

ITIL foundation will be an advantage
Have a good understanding of Sibanye-Stillwater business needs related to IT systems requirements

Key responsibilities include:

To ensure that all critical systems have a reliable backup to be used to restore either systems or data
To ensure that the correct authorizations requested for creation, deletions and moves are correctly captured within the system and comply with the license agreements
Effective liaison with Service Providers to ensure an efficient ICT service and internet delivery
Researched alternative technological solutions to provide effective ICT systems to support business systems
The corrective patch levels of the equipment are maintained
The corrected firmware levels of the equipment are applied
Ensure 24/7 uptime of the ICT datacentre and server infrastructure
Provide daily backup of critical data in the ICT environment
Disaster plans are tested to ensure that systems are fully recoverable
Improvements implemented to enhance the disaster recovery process
Follow change control process for any changes
Liaise with business units to understand current and future requirements
To manage and coordinate service providers and vendors to achieve maximum benefit to the business and timeous resolution of problems and incidents
Systems are monitored on a regular basis to enforce compliance to ever changing software version criteria
Antivirus software versions are maintained to current compliance levels
Operating system software versions are maintained to current compliance levels
System performance levels are monitored continuously to deliver (file, print and application delivery)
Effective use of deployment technology to manage software distribution and patch management
Management of entire Sibanye-Stillwater SCCM/SCOM infrastructure with minimal impact on user
Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and reduce costs.
Keep abreast of technological developments and be able to maximize vendor support when solving problems
