Our client, a leading international Gold & Platinum Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Underground Boilermaker Supervisor at their facility near Carletonville in the Gauteng Province.

The appointee should:
Be in possession of a valid Grade 12 or N3 Certificate or equivalent
Hold a relevant Foreman’s Certificate of competency
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office packages
Have at least a minimum of 3 years’ experience in supervisory capacity and be in possession of recognized trade certificate
Have shaft repair experience
Have winder and pumps fitting experience (advantageous)
Have shaft repairs experience (major shaft repair program)
Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience as an artisan
Be a self-starter, self-motivated and result orientated
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to read engineering drawings
Have intimate knowledge of relevant Mines Code of Practice
Be prepared to work extended hours on ad hoc basis
Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Key responsibilities include:
roving and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to the health and safety of employees in the section
Quality assurance on equipment repaired and or manufactured
Repairing and manufacturing and repairs of equipment (Rolling stock, Cutting torches etc.)
Mechanical winder section ( both fitting and boilermaker responsibilities )
Pump section ( both Fitting and Boilermaking responsibilities )
Rigging and ropes
Solving mechanical and technical problems
Managing maintenance, manufacturing and repairs of equipment, Tips and boxfronts
Ordering of equipment and spares (SAP system)
Attending site visits in order to do SOW’s
Calculating BOM’s and doing official quotations
