Our client, a leading international Gold and Platinum mining group is looking for a qualified and experienced Supervisor Fitter UG for their facility near Carletonville in the Gauteng Province.

Job Grading: C-Upper

The appointee should:
Be in possession of a valid Grade 12 or N3 Certificate or equivalent
Have a relevant Trade Test Certificate and Foreman’s Certificate of competency
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office
Have at least a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering field
Be a self-starter, self-motivated and result orientated
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have intimate knowledge of relevant Mines Code of Practice
Be prepared to work extended hours on ad hoc basis and be available
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Key responsibilities include:
Plan, execute and supervise all day to day process and maintenance activities in his / her area of responsibility
Plan and control budget
Overall control of electrical apparatus in engineering and ensure legal compliance and safety of subordinates
Maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
Order engineering equipment and spares
Oversee daily work according to Engineering Policies and Procedures within prescribed guidelines
Provide and maintain a safe environment with minimum risk to health and safety of employees in his or her section
Ensure continuous training and updating of employees in your area of responsibility in regards to procedures and relevant instructions
Maintain ISO standards and conditions in the section
Ensure a working environment in which employees can be motivated
