The appointee should:
• Have a Diploma in General Nursing , Community Health Nursing & Occupational Health
• Have a Diploma in Primary Health Care Nursing
• Have insight into compensation laws and their application
• Have a Dispensing License
• Have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Primary Health Care Nursing
• Be registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
• Have well developed verbal and written English communication skills
• Have above average communication and interpersonal skills
• Be customer orientated and be able to work in a team and under pressure
• Be willing and able to work extended hours as required
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at a relevant Occupational Health Centre.
Advantageous requirements:
• Previous experience in OHC and PHC within mining industry
• Previous experience in nursing management.
• Computer Literate (MS Office)
• Experience in TB Management
• Have own transport
Key responsibilities include:
• To utilise his/her skills and knowledge within the Occupational Health Centre to develop and apply the management systems, processes, and resources provided to meet the occupational medical demands of the company, taking cognisance of applicable legislation and best practice principles, with the ultimate goal to perform the activities of the Supervisor Nursing in a responsible manner with quality and quantity of work as priority.
• Functional/operational: technical occupational health skills with regard to utilising appropriate technology to perform risk- based medical surveillance, combined with excellent problem solving skills, is critical.
• Leadership outputs: Motivating, coaching a multidisciplinary team is critical as is conflict handling skills.
• Teamwork: Customer orientation and diversity management skills are essential.
