Our client, a leading Gold & Platinum Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Strata Control Supervisor at their Kloof Mine near Westonaria.

The appointee should:
Be in possession of valid Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification with mathematics and science
Have Chamber of Mines Strata Control Certificates
Be proficient in Microsoft Office and other related systems
Have at least 2 years’ experience in the Rock Engineering Department at a tabular gold or platinum operations
Have good communication skills
Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirement :
Experience in production department as a Production Supervisor
Studying towards or be in possession of Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate
Tertiary qualification relevant to mining

Key responsibilities include:
Regular inspection of working faces and documentation of strata control issues
Quality control of support installation and monitoring of new support units as per Code of Practice
Quality control of secondary support and relevant contractors
Investigate and report on falls of ground, panels lost and action required to improve conditions and standards
Ensure full compliance to all applicable legislations and mine standards within the area of responsibility
Manage and maintain all rock engineering systems
