JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: To assist the Engineering Manager in the overall administration and
technical direction of projects in the welding engineering discipline, within a multi discipline project
environment throughout the full life cycle of a project and the execution of work within quality, man-hour,
cost budgets and time schedules.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Builds and maintains relationships with the relevant stakeholders.
• Provides engineering input into planning and roll-out of a project in conjunction with the project team.
• Generates technical engineering documentation for procurement of goods or services.
• Assists with the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the relevant facilities and services.
• Provides engineering information to the relevant stakeholders.
• Conducts technical review of drawings.
• Adheres to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the timeous completion works allocated
• Responsible for the safety of his team as per site requirements
• Manpower, material and plant planning
• Complete understanding of scope of work and BOQ
• Understand and work to company policies and procedures
• Complete daily diaries, restraints list and extra work list to Site Manager
• Assure that QCP documents are correct and punch lists are worked off
• Do monthly measures for QS and Site Manager
• Assure that the latest issued AFC drawings are used and that As Build
• Drawing/Documentation are kept up to date.
• Assign and delegate work and responsibilities to subordinates as necessary.
• Liaising with client on relevant issues of production.
• Resolution of minor IR/HR issues
• Organise and direct the work of all field personnel
• Assign and delegate work responsibilities to subordinates as necessary
• Withdraw or sign for work permits issued by client
• Perform risk assessments for tasks
• Ensure task performance in line with production requirements.
• Communicate all business and policy changes.
• Assure personnel compliance to Safety and Quality requirements
• Identify and implement areas of continuous improvement.
• Manage individual performance
• Plan, organise, communicate and monitor the production process.
• Check Prior and after contractor mobilization on Site welding , heat treatments and NDT
procedures
• Following Foremen and welders activities
• Check WPS
• PQR in regard to validity, application and completeness
• Daily reporting
• Procedures carried out correctly, followed, applied and available when required
• NDT procedures correct and compliance met in all aspects of Welding requirements on Site

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSc / BEng / BTech (Mechanical Engineering) qualification preferred
• Trade or Technical Diploma
• Relevant Management Courses
• Technical Qualification
• Qualified Artisan

EXPERIENCE:
• At least 8-10 years related work experience (other jobs that prepared you for this job).
• Computer literate (MS Office)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Has a proven track record in the same or similar role
• Has a sound knowledge of multi – disciplinary engineering methodology and best practices
• Is proficient on a multitude of engineering software packages
• Good knowledge of Water/Construction/Engineering software programmes
• Able to effective communicate, both verbally and orally, to internal and external stakeholders
• Understand site management Qualified Artisan requirements
for each site where deployed
