Is responsible to ensure consistently qualified suppliers for the lower quality level equipment specifications commodities / supplier assigned, drive and support supplier development activities,

Identify and mitigate the risks in the supply chain, and manage / support product development and qualification process for the set of commodities/ suppliers assigned.

2. MAIN DUTIES

The Supplier Qualification and Development Manager’s tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

· Define qualification level of the suppliers for the set of commodities/suppliers responsible, i.e. approved, approved with conditions and not approved (forbidden)

· Define qualification level of new suppliers for the set of commodities/suppliers responsible

· Plan and deliver supplier qualification and requalification audits

- Assess supplier in terms of the appropriateness of their Quality Management System, status of ISO certifications and EHS

- Assess supplier on their production capabilities, lead times and cost structure

- Assess supplier on their planning and resolution of preventive and corrective reports caused by NCRs or other failures

· Prepare and release supplier evaluation reports

· Drive and support supplier development activities by defining continuous improvement measures/corrective actions based on benchmarking, QCD analysis and supply chain problems

· Increase supplier capabilities and performance

· Initiate/agree and follow up of the corrective and preventive actions at suppliers

· Understand and mitigate the risks together with Key Commodity Managers

· Support the product qualification process for the set of commodities/suppliers responsible

· Keep the supporting tools (Power Source, Supplier Qualification Management Database) up to date

· To undertake any other duty and responsibility as may be required by the Line Manager

· To promote the interests and image of the company at all times

2.1 Authority

The Supplier Qualification and Development Manager has the authority:

To perform the rating and approval of low quality level suppliers to the following qualification levels:
- Approved
- Approved with conditions
- Not approved (forbidden)

To perform supplier qualification and re-qualification audits of the low quality level equipment specifications (Level B/C).
To release supplier evaluation / performance reports.
To drive and direct supplier for corrective/preventative action completion and for continuous improvement activities.
To conduct risk assessment studies and development / implement mitigation plans.
2.2 Performance Measurement
Is measured on the following:

Accuracy and timelines of reporting.
Number of the non-assessed/approved/approved with conditions/ forbidden suppliers
Number of conducted and delivered supplier qualification and requalification audits and evaluation reports.
Number of conducted and accomplished supplier development activities
Number of risk evaluations and mitigations in the supply chain
3. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

3.1 Education

· Engineering/ Science degree from university or equivalent

· ISO auditor Training (Preferred Lead Auditor Training)

3.2 Qualifications

Certification in Quality Engineering desirable
Certification as ISO 9001 auditor desirable
3.3 Specific Knowledge and Skills

Training in, and several years’ experience of design, manufacturing, testing / inspection of electrical and mechanical equipment as used in thermal power plants.
Knowledge of supplier assessment and qualifications to applicable codes, standards and company requirements.
Knowledge of business processes and tools applied
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, e.g. Six Sigma training
Knowledge of contract management, legal awareness and financial principles.
Knowledge of procurement activities based on ERP systems (Preferably SAP based systems)
Language: fluent in written and spoken English
