The incumbent will be expected to implement supply chain strategy according to the framework. He / she must be able to integrate the processes and requirements of production, marketing/sales and a shared services platform. In addition to this there will be some routine administrative processes that have to be managed.

• Responsibilities also entail providing leadership and development to the supply chain / admin team. Operational responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage the supply chain / admin function providing training where necessary.
• Ensure the smooth running of all procurement functions, inventory management, packaging requirements, warehousing, inbound and outbound logistics.
• Translate the site requirements accurately to the shared services platform and ensure that the correct level of service is received from the platform.
• Interface with Sales for forecasts and translate this into a monthly, weekly and daily rolling forecast for production and support production site in meeting production requirements.
• Draw up production plans and update as necessary and keep all stakeholders updated. Ensure accurate warehouse stock monitoring, cycle count accuracy and stock adjustments.
• Be responsible for all environmental, health, safety and quality aspects of the supply chain function including incident investigations and transport non-conformance reporting.
• Be the responsible person for transport distribution safety on site according to guidelines. Be the site responsible person for trade control management according to protocols.
• Support the management team in all aspects of site management.
• Control all admin functions for the site e.g. cleaning contractor management, reception, batch card maintenance, etc.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate should possess a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment related to forecasting, production planning, logistics and inventory management. Experience in a chemical manufacturing industry is a distinct advantage.
• Minimum 5 years experience with SAP or similar ERP systems with emphasis on MRP, masterdata, BOM’s.
• Minimum 5 years people management experience. Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in English.
• Ability to work in a 24/7, 365 day operation.
