Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Relevant qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics or Operations Management
- CPIM would be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years experience in planning, logistics and scheduling in a Pharmaceutical/Nutritionals/Food industry
- Minimum 3 years middle/senior management experience in planning, scheduling, materials management and procurement
- Expert knowledge in relevant supply chain systems
- Computer literate
- BAAN experience will be an advantage

Responsibilities:
- Provide materials as a internal service and optimise work in process & finished goods levels
- Maintain a master plan of forecast demand and supply capacity
- Facilitate the resolution and prioritization of demand constraint decisions
- Ensure that the complete and current scenarios are reflected in the integrated planning system
- Highlight financial risks in advance for areas where schedule recoveries are lower that budgeted recoveries
- Maintain purchasing standards and systems
- Liaise with procurement and finance regarding financial values of stock
- Accountable for inventory levels / obsolescence / slow moving stock
- Optimise purchasing by ensuring materials are delivered timeously to meet the production plan
- Set procurement budget for the financial year
- Establish cost reduction targets
- Assist in executing the price increase forecast and cost containment & reduction strategies
- Contain monthly expenses
- Negotiate supply and pricing issues
- Document problems with proposed improvement
- Perform supplier performance measurements
- Align and submit requested data and documents for new suppliers
- Ensure that SOP's are drawn up, implemented and trained on
- Ensure integrity of all systems purchasing/master scheduling
