Supply Chain Manager
Location Mifa Park, Midrand
Reports to CEO
The successful incumbent will be responsible for all strategy and effective operational performance on a national basis in respect of:
• Procurement (including demand planning)
• Warehousing
• Outbound logistics
Requirements:
• BComm in Supply Chain preferable or equivalent or suitable, appropriate and relevant experience
• 5+ years’ logistics and supply chain experience, of which 3+ years need to have been in a management role
• Advanced Excel a must
• Strong ERP experience
• Bilingual
• MS Office, specifically email, Word
• Problem Solving
• Customer Responsiveness
• Verbal and Written Communication
• Commercial and Financial Acumen
Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement benchmarks, strategies and methodologies to ensure optimal procurement activity
Develop and manage Supplier Relationships to ensure optimal supplier support and manage Supplier Performance
Warehousing:
Develop and implement warehousing benchmarks, strategies and methodologies to ensure optimal procurement activity; including:
Analyse warehouse workflows to identify where flows and processes could be improved in order to optimise stockholding.
ii. Manage stock levels and stock turn
iii. Eliminate slow moving inventory
iv. Retain historic performance on nil stock losses
Manage cash flow through optimised stock holding and Just In Time procurement.
Outbound Logistics:
Develop and implement outbound logistics benchmarks, strategies and methodologies to ensure optimal procurement activity;
Manage effective relationships with all outbound service providers based on relevant standards and performance contracts
Effective Financial Management:
a. Budgeting for all stock locations.
b. Ensure distribution costs are according to budget and updated forecasts.
c. Purchasing is within the agreed values.
d. Continually look at ways to save costs.
e. Take assertive action in the event of any fraudulent or unethical practices.
Ad Hoc Projects and General:
a. Investigate and implement appropriate ERP tools for the supply chain function.
b. Effective management and communication with internal stakeholders
c. Effective team leadership
