Supply Chain Manager

Medical device company based in Sandton is recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager with a, not negotiable:
Completed, related Degree or National Diploma
3+ years' experience in Supply Chain Management

MS Office profiency

Incumbent will be required to ensure that all the product related components and sub-systems are processed from initiation of the procurement cycle through sub-contractor and Quality Control progression to reaching the Stores. All aspects of completion, testing, inspection, and conforming to required relevant quality standards and deadlines are to be adhered to.

Main job purpose:
Responsible for ensuring that all the product related components and sub-systems are processed from initiation of the procurement cycle through sub-contractor and Quality Control progression to reaching the Stores, or factory floor, as required, including being complete, tested / inspected, conforming to required relevant quality standards, and on time.

Monitoring and ensuring liaison between the various relevant stakeholders relevant to maintaining timeous flow of parts to production.

The incumbent will liaise with the Quality Control Officer that the relevant quality inspection tasks are carried out in accordance with the relevant Quality Work instructions.

Supply Chain Planning and Management
· Detailed planning of all components required for all products to be built, in accordance with the Production Short order forms issued by the Production Manager.
· Coordinating between Technical specialists and suppliers where relevant information or input is required to expedite the supply of finished components.
· Managing the status and progress of components at sub-contractors for rework, or added value work.
· Integrating and maintaining of detailed supply plans into a consolidated overall production plan (long term and short term) to make up the Master Production Schedule.
· Reporting to the Production Manager on a regular basis regarding the status and progress of supplied items.
· Line-manage and performance manage the Procurement and Stores functions to see that all goals are met.


Procurement Management
Liaising with the Procurement officer in terms of prioritizing the ordering, tracking and supply of stock items from sub-contractors so that cash flow can be optimized whilst timelines are met.
Liaising with the Procurement officer in terms of logistics around the dispatch and delivery of components and products
Perform agreed scheduled audits on all relevant suppliers, as well as assisting them with their development to ensure the highest applicable standards are obtained.
Performing regular Supplier evaluations and providing feedback on factors such as quality of product, quality of service, price and delivery for the purpose of encouraging their continual improvement.

Stores Management
· Liaise with the Store person in terms of prioritizing the receiving, inspection, processing, storage and issuing of stock items timeously to production.
· Line manage and performance the company driver to see that all goals are met.
· Ensure that Stock Takes occur regularly and effectively.

QC of Product
Ensure the highest quality standards and of all stock items used on Products.
Liaise with the Quality Control Officer to ensure that all necessary quality control inspections are carried out of all related stock items used for Production, Installation and Service.
Identify and evaluate suppliers and sub-contractors by measuring the attributes and performance of all their related components, their processes, or services against company requirements.

General
Assist with the identification, implementation and maintenance of sound housekeeping within the production department to reflect an environment of safety, efficiency, effectiveness and cleanliness.
Act as Health and Safety Rep as and when required.
Drive the implementation and maintenance of quality initiatives regarding supplier, systems and product in ensuring continuous improvements are achieved.
Report on above performance both verbally and in writing when required by the Production Manager.

Mandatory requirements:

Education:
Grade 12
Related Tertiary qualification from a recognised education institution. Minimum N5 or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with a completed 1) Degree 2) National Diploma
Applicants must be able to provide certificates for all Matric plus all courses completed
Professional experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Supply Management

Software / Technical skills:
Microsoft Office and or other software data base management tools

Must permanently reside within the Johannesburg area
Must have own reliable vehicle and a clear and valid driver’s license
Must be able to provide a minimum of 3 Reporting Manager’s landline and cell phone numbers and email address who are immediately contactable for reference checks to be conducted

Additional mandatory stipulations, competencies and requirements:
· Own transport with a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
· The successful candidate must have the personality, communication skills and competence to focus on providing customer service as the role is all about being client-facing.
· Must dress and be groomed in a neat, presentable and corporate fashion at all times

· Three references from previous managers will be required therefore contact details must be available.
