Company is a leading supplier of specialised fasteners to the automotive, white goods and security manufacturer industries. The quality, lead time and pricing is highly meticulous in these industries and risk is very high for inventory redundancies and product failure liability. Company is seeking a highly experienced Supply chain manager to join their executive team in Durban to take their inventory management and client forecasting models to the next level. The person will oversee the whole procurement and distribution platform and employees thereunder.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

• Experience in travelling to foreign suppliers in the far east continents to source new suppliers/consolidate suppliers/conclude supplier contracts/conclude pricing/perform comprehensive supplier audits.
• High level negotiation skills to reduce company inventory but still maintaining planned supply times to customers.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and working capital management.
• Overall general reduction of cost of sales.
• Freight and duties recoveries.
• Draft and implement sourcing and expediting process maps and monitor compliance.
• Initiate best practices to improve sourcing timelines for new product enquiries and general MRP system.
• Initiate local sourcing for BBBEE and inventory control.
