Supply Chain Operations/Branch Manager – Johannesburg
Permanent R40k CTC - Centurion

Purpose:
Manage operations through sound relationships with staff and customers within group company policies by taking ownership of the overall business unit ensuring a profitable operating margin.
Assist with the implementation and go live of the on-site client warehouse operations and ensure successful stabilization of operations according to contractual terms with the client.
Role as Bench/Branch Manager:
Standby Branch Manager for capacity. Shadow current operations to be able to take over at short notice and stand in where required. Assist with continuous improvement projects and new contract implementations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric; Related Tertiary Qualification & Advanced: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• 5-6 years Operations Management experience.
• 5-6 years People Management experience (motivating, developing, performance management, discipline).
• Proven record in managing warehouse operations is critical
• Experience in a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Financial management skills, including budgeting & tracking.
• HR & IR management skills.
• Driver’s License; Own Vehicle; Ability to work overtime and flexible hours when required.
• Sales & Presentation skills.
• Procurement/ Commercial skills.

Duties:
• Manage and take ownership of the day to day operational activities and ensure that the Company and Client is adhering to the contractual standards set out in the SLA agreement.
• Operational leadership on all aspects of the business
• Daily shop floor reviews and layered audits and follow up and close out diligently.
• Ensure that the operation is profitable by managing the budget and controlling expenditure to support overall company profitability.
• Seek out new business opportunities within the current operation with the Client by providing service excellence and complying with the Client as one strategies and to achieve strategic positioning with the client involving the other business units.
• Manage resources and staff and provide them with the necessary tools required to perform their daily activities eg equipment, knowledge, skills and training.
• Ensure that all Company rules, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance to corporate governance.
• Assess and minimize risk factors in the operation to ensure profitability and customer retention.
• Maintain sound client relationships within a trustworthy environment to ensure future continuous relationship.
• Continuously address value adds through continuous improvement processes ensuring profitable growth to the client and ourselves.
• Create a learning environment for staff through multi skilling, empowering and succession planning to ensure continued capacity within the framework of the business.
• Compliance of site to company quality standards
• Role as Bench Manager:
Fill in for Branch Manager where required (due to illness, business travel or annual leave).
• Take over as Branch Manager on operations where the current incumbent becomes unavailable or resigns.
• Assist General Manager will rollout of strategic initiatives and projects to operations.
• Assist on new contract implementations where required.
