Our client a leader in the manufacturing of explosives are looking to engage the services of a Supply chain planning manager. The incumbent will report to the Supply Chain Director, and will be responsible for managing the integrated business planning process, and will provide strategic and tactical guidance in relation to demand, supply and inventory planning.
Establish a strong end-to-end Supply Chain Planning function and develop related capabilities
Leads the implementation of the Integrated Business Planning process
Reviews and validates the demand and supply plans
Lead the management business review process to executive level
Safeguard the businesses ability to meet its demand objectives
Establish optimal inventory methods and stock holding policies
Develop and implement suitable supply planning metrics
Ensuring that inventory levels are optimally maintained taking service, cost and risk considerations into account
Managing the MRP implementation project
Co-ordinating new product, customer and site introductions
Deploy advanced planning tools and technologies
Competencies and Experience
10 years relevant work experience
3 years focussed on Supply Chain planning and inventory optimization
A NFQ Level 6 qualification preferably in the field of Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
High numerical reasoning ability
Ability to process and analyse high volumes of data
Analytical and logical thinking
Accurate and precise with information
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a cross functional environment
A self-motivated individual with good interpersonal relationship skills
Knowledge
Understanding of commercial activities (sales and marketing)
Production and operations management
Sales and operations planning
Inventory systems and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
Production systems
Master production scheduling and operations scheduling
Advanced planning and operations systems
