Surveillance Supervisor
Rustenburg
R10 000 – R12000 per month

Duration: 3-year contract
Interview process: 2 x interviews as well as polygraph testing

Working hours:
12 hours’ shifts, Mon – Sunday
06h00 – 18h00 or 18h00 – 06h00 ,3 days, 3 nights and 3 days off

Educational/Minimum requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4).
PSIRA Registered (Min Grade C).
Min of five (5) years proven working experience within a control room.
Computer literate.
Own transport to the office is essential.
Exceptional telephone etiquette and communication skills.
Technical background of cameras and alarm systems will be highly beneficial.
Advanced Surveillance Body Language will be highly beneficial.
Proven experience with two-way radios would be beneficial.
Must be able to read incident risk behaviour and perform profiling activities.
Occupational health and safety medical certificate.

Reporting:
Complete the Pima Alarm log book
Record all incidents/ personnel booked on/off duty in the Occurrence Book (OB) with full details
Accept all responsibilities as handed over in the Occurrence Book (OB).
Ensure that daily and weekly and monthly reports are completed and submitted to the relevant personnel in time.
Monitoring and Response:
Ensure that SMS is sent to CCTV systems daily.
All monitoring/ tracking of alarms/ cameras
Ensure effective monitoring of the client perimeters during dispatching of precious metals.
Monitor movement on CCTV cameras for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this includes personnel and vehicle searchers movement as well as the whole perimeter of the client.
Evaluate movement on camera and activate response team if suspicious activity is detected.
Ensure relevant/ closest response team is dispatched to all alarm systems reported to the control room in a quick and efficient manner. Keep suspects under surveillance while calling back-up.
Identify priority issues and escalate them to management.
Inform management, clients and operational task teams about emergency, arrange for backup with local authorities if needed, and keep them updated with the progress.
Acknowledge alarms on Watch manager and P2000.
Ensure that the VMD’s activates on Nice Vision when the alarm goes off.
Supervisory duties:
Monitor all operational activities to ensure targets are met and that all deadlines are adhered to.
Allocate appropriate resources to ensure the smooth running of the Control Room.
Ensure that all technical aspects for service delivery are set and is functioning properly.
Plan, organise and delegate tasks and responsibilities of subordinates effectively.
Review, evaluate and report subordinates’ performance as per company requirements.
Ensure all subordinates are following the correct operating procedures according to company, client and legal requirements.
Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
X-ray operating (as and when required):
Monitor flow through screening checkpoints to ensure order and efficiency.
Inspect persons and items, using x-ray viewing equipment, to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation.
Search baggage and other items when it is suspected to contain prohibited items.
Inform the relevant individuals of persons who have triggered alarms or who are suspected to carry prohibited items
Notify the control room/ superiors/police (when necessary) when security breaches occur in a timeous manner.
Ensure that those who breach security are kept under supervision until police or other operational personnel arrive.
Monitor movement in and around area of responsibility at all times to identify suspicious activity. Notify the control room as soon as suspicious activity is suspected.
