The purpose of the role is to interpret business requirements and provide a system specification for developers using System Engineering Process techniques.

- NQF Level 5: 3-year National Diploma/Higher Cert
- B Degree in Business or Computer Science or Information Technology or B Tech
- Two (2) years systems analyst experience
- Proficientin MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
- No criminal record
- Define and obtain the Business Requirement Definition from the Business Analyst (where relevant) and facilitate sessions to clarify requirements and identify any gaps
- Produce data flow diagrams using the relevant software to model the system
- Create data structures using modelling tools
- Write Business System Specifications
- Liaise with developers, designers and architects to identify the requirements and communicate any additional information
- Refine specification at that point of time to ensure it is technically possible
- Identify any additional functionality that could logically be done at the same time and liaise with the Business Units to determine if this functionality could be included or needs to be run as a separate project
- Conduct negotiations between developers and Business Unit
- Assist the developers in creating unit test plans and provide clarification of any queries
- Finalise the test plan and outstanding test cases whereby new conditions may need to be added
- Conduct system integration testing and manage defects, enhancements and additional requirements
- Monitor that the system is stable in production
- Schedule a meeting with production support team and walk them through the system
- Provide all the project documentation (file or Share Point site) to the relevant role players
- Ensure sign off to take ownership of project
