Systems Engineer
Location: Pretoria

Qualifications, skills and experience:
A Bachelor’s degree (e.g. BSc, BTech, etc.) in computer science or engineering electrical, electronic or computer engineering.. A Master’s degree will be advantageous.
At least five years’ working experience in the engineering field involving research and development.
Must have at least three years’ experience as a systems engineer and/or with writing type A, B or systems level specifications.
In-depth knowledge of systems engineering approaches from requirement, architecture, design and analysis of complex systems to system life-cycles.
Project management experience will be advantageous.
Experience in the following would be advantageous:
• Systems engineering tools;
• Capability management;
• ICT; and
• Research and development.
Professional registration with a relevant body will be advantageous.
Experience with systems engineering tools will be advantageous.
Proven experience with the preparation of documentation (specifically specifications and proposals, as well as acceptance tests) within the systems engineering framework for projects exceeding 1 mil rand in proposed value.
Proven ability to lead technical teams, ideally within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to bring product development projects to finalisation.
Ability to read outside the immediate field in order to factor in diverse client/product requirements.
Ability to work independently, as well as a team within a research environment.
Strong coordination, organisation, teaming and communication abilities.
Ability to effectively direct employees.
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
Ability to present technical information successfully.
