TALENT BUSINESS PARTNER

We are sourcing for an awesome candidate for this role who will be responsible to work in partnership with the business in providing a professional and proactive generalist HR service through building relationships, providing accurate and sound HR support whilst actively assisting in the implementation of organizational change through the facilitation of change initiatives to bring about performance and cultural improvement.

Key Performance Areas

Maintaining good employee relations

  • To provide day-to-day advisory service to the business on employment related issues and employment law with a blend of pragmatism and best practice HR, ensuring consistency in application and adherence to company policy
  • To proactively engage with Line Managers to ensure consistency and adherence to company guidelines and policies
  • To provide first line advice on potential changes in terms and conditions, working hours, potential restructuring
  • To provide HR support and advice pertaining to grievance and disciplinary measures and providing  HR support during investigatory meetings and disciplinary hearings
  • To guide managers on how to manage poor performance within their teams in line with company policy and best practice, provide coaching tips and guidance on how to give feedback

Maintaining and implementing policies and procedures

  • Where required, assist in the design and development of policies and procedures
  • To work with the HR Manager, HR team and Managers on implementing best practice and company policy as well as making recommendations to amend policy in accordance with changes in employment law and broader HR landscape
  • Ensure consistent and correct application of company policy within area of responsibility through presentations and workshops

Employment equity monitoring and reporting

  • Ensure the company’s employment equity policy is adhered to in relation to recruitment, employment, promotion and disciplinary decisions and processes
  • Provide advice on discrimination in the workplace where needed

HR administration

  • Ensure timely and high quality service is provided in the preparation and issuing of new and amended employment contracts
  • Maintain accurate and updated employee records at all times for both the personnel files and Premier HR
  • Prepare accurate and timely HR reports as requested by the HR Manager, ensuring all statistics are accurate throughout
  • Ensure timely and high quality service is provided in the administration of all employee benefits
  • Actively manage induction and on-boarding of all new recruits within area of responsibility ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately completed and distributed as required

Employee wellness

  • Actively promote the company’s EAP to employees as well as Line Management
  • Identify employees at risk and proactively encourage informal referrals, and assist Management with the process of formal referrals
  • Analyze reports and identify risk areas to be addressed through wellness initiatives
  • Corporate social investment
  • Promote and support CSI initiatives in line with Company requirements
  • Assist with the co-ordination, communication and reporting on CSI initiatives undertaken throughout the business
  • Organizational development
  • Support the Team Leader with the implementation of organizational interventions and change management interventions where risks, operational or strategic business changes are identified by the business
  • Facilitate the practical implementation of effective performance management based on Company processes within area of responsibility, with on-going monitoring of the process to ensure that all related activities are conducted within the allocated timeframes
  • Act as a change agent and role model, providing the support and effective mechanisms to implement major changes to the operations of the business
  • When required, support the business with all aspects relating to restructuring
  • Facilitate all team development processes, including workshops, exercises, or programs to enhance the cohesiveness of teams

Other

  • Support the HR department to deliver key annual projects in the business, including Group Pulse Surveys, Leadership Surveys and the bi-annual KPA processes

Requirements  

Qualifications & Accreditations

  • 3 Year degree or diploma in Human Resources
  • Experience & Skills
  • 3 – 5 Years’ experience in a generalist HR role
  • Sound labor relations experience including representation at CCMA to Arbitration level
  • Experience in a Call Centre will be highly advantageous
  • Experience with VIP will be an added advantage
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
