To arrange and sot hides

Inspects and sorts processed material, such as hides, skins, or leather:

To Examine material for defects, such as brand marks, cuts, and scars, to trim defects from material.

Verifies thickness of material, using gauge.

Sorts material according to qualities, such as color, size, and thickness.

Returns defective material for reprocessing.

May be designated according to material sorted as Blue-Leather Sorter (leather mfg.);

Patent-Leather Sorter ; Russet-Leather Sorter
