Qualification:
Relevant Financial qualification – BComm (Accounting)
It will be advantageous to have a CA (SA) and/or Higher Diploma in Tax
Completed Articles with an auditing firm
Understanding of IFRS/GAAP
Knowledge of VAT Legislation
Skills & Experience:
3 – 5 years relevant experience in a listed entity
Ensure that group’s VAT returns are completed timeously and that all required schedules have been completed and submitted
Provide advice to the business for VAT
Review and advise certain African country subsidiaries with tax matters
Assist with providing advice for Payroll and Customs duty
Prepare, manage, and deal with the internal and external auditors for VAT purposed
Manage the relationship with SARS and respond to SARS queries
Manage and deal with tax advisors
Manage the group’s e-filing profile
Ad hoc assistance where required
Reconcile VAT general ledger accounts
Provide analytical evidence of group VAT compliance. Continuously monitor systems and processes, including change initiatives and training, to ensure compliance
Maintain up-to-date, detailed knowledge of trends and changes in Tax legislation by reading, regular attendance of professional courses, workshops, etc.

Job Description:
