Location: Illovo, Jhb.
Reporting to: Taxation Manager

To assist the Tax Specialists in the management of the tax compliance requirements for a portfolio of clients, including both personal and corporate taxation.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Matric and relevant financial / TAX qualification
• 2 years relative working experience
• 2 years SARS and TAX experience
• Computer literate with working experience with Excel / Word / Taxware
• Being able to assist with company statutory processing including preparation and submission of new company registrations and CC to PTY conversions and other company amendments
• Being able to navigate the CIPC (Company Intellectual Property Commission) website
• Completion and submission of annual company returns
• Understanding of SARS reporting requirements and processes
• Adequate knowledge of VAT and PAYE processes
• Able to navigate he SARS E-filing system

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals
• Prepare or assist in preparing IT14 company tax returns for submission to SARS using Annual Financial Statements / Management Accounts
• Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex provisional tax returns for individuals and companies
• Able to read and understand tax assessments and assist with the preparation of objections
• Collating documents and preparing applications for different tax type registrations – individual tax, company tax, PAYE, VAT, import / export
• Locating and compiling supporting documents for SARS audits
• Being able to liaise with the SARS call centre on all enquiries
• Ensuring that SARS has the most relevant /updated information for all clients
• Follow up on any outstanding assessments, refunds and payments
• Periodical checks on tax accounts to ensure that they are clear
• Capturing of sole prop / commission earners bank accounts
• Attending SARS appointments at SARS when necessary.
