Our client is looking for a Tax Clerk to join their hard working team...
Summary of Activities
Tax returns – completion of individual and trust tax returns.
Registrations for: VAT, Paye, UIF, WCA, SDL and attend to Queries
Client general correspondence.
SARS queries and follow-ups.
Provisional tax calculations and preparation of forms.
Preparation of individual and trust tax computations, including Capital Gains Tax calculations
Preparation of personal statements of Assets and Liabilities
Preparation of Income and Expenditure statements in respect of sole proprietors and partnerships
Attending to applications for tax clearance and foreign tax clearance certificates
Dividends Witholding Tax Forms - completion
Professional Qualification
National Certificate/ Diploma in Taxation
Academic Qualification
Matric (minimum)
Work Experience
Basic knowledge of Management Accounting and Cost Accounting.
2 years experience in a tax clerk position.
Working knowledge of SARS e-filing
Working knowledge of Greatsoft would be an advantage
Detailed Job Functions
Daily
Completion and lodgement of tax returns.
Registrations for VAT, Paye, UIF, WCA, SDL etc.including advising clients as to the documentation required for these registrations
Client general correspondence: such as requesting information from clients via email, fax and telephone.
Phoning SARS regarding queries and refund follow-ups.
Preparation of Income and Expenditure statements
Calculating Income Tax and structuring salary packages
Tax directive and Tax Clearance applications
Monthly and Annually
Provisional tax preparation for the Partners
Checking of Assessments and follow up of payments/refunds due
