A leading company in the investments sector is seeking a successful Tax Consultant. Some of the duties of the positon will include: support and assist with the management of the tax technical base, with specific emphasis on international tax matters affecting the Group, including a high-level understanding of tax laws in jurisdictions in which the Group holds strategic investments, maintaining and updating of databases, review and analysis of impact of new tax laws, i.e. new legislation and interpretation, both local and international; Assist with tax compliance risk management with specific emphasis on international tax matters, including development and improvement of processes; Targeted tax technical training to business units to ensure tax compliance and timely consideration and/or identification of tax implications of transactions; Detailed technical research on ad hoc projects both local and international; Tax technical transactional analysis and support, including tax due diligence, transaction documentation review, assistance with practical implementation matters and resultant tax compliance obligations; and write and review of correspondence with SARS: information requests, ruling requests, and tax disputes.
