TEACHERS/TUTORS REQUIRED
International House Cape Town, in partnership with Kaplan International Colleges, is looking for Teachers/Tutors for its Kaplan Global Foundation (GF) programme.

The GF programme is a pre-sessional course, designed for students who have completed high school and wish to enrol in an undergraduate degree in the UK or Australia. The programme aims to improve students’ subject knowledge, academic skills and English language skills needed for success at university abroad.

Teachers/Tutors are required on a contractual basis, and will teach between 6 and 24 hours per week depending on subjects taught.

As the successful candidate, you will enjoy working with international students, be student-focused and performance driven and have:

1. A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher related to one or more of the following subjects:
? Economics - Micro- and Macro Economics.
? Social Science - the broader Social Sciences discipline e.g. the study of human society and social relationships.
? Advanced Mathematics - i.e. algebra, quadratics, geometry, trigonometry, differentiation and integration.
? Physical Science - i.e. optics, waves and lasers, electricity, electronics and magnetism, thermal physics and thermal and mechanical properties of matter.
? Biological Science - related to mammals and plants, e.g. physiology, reproduction, development and metabolism. Genetic and cellular principles, immunology, chemical signals and hormones and diet and health.
? Management Science – i.e. business organisations, the political and legal environment, marketing and economics.
2. English as your first language or native-level proficiency.
3. A teaching qualification.
4. Teaching experience, preferably within a higher education context.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:
? Experience of working with international students.
? Strong record-keeping skills.
? Competent administrative IT skills (Microsoft Office suite, etc.).
? The ability to develop and update teaching material.
? Experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
? The flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
? A commitment to improving your skills.
? Enthusiasm and motivation to be a team player.
