The Technology Area Owner will primarily be responsible to lead and manage the technical delivery of the relevant technology area. TAO's are senior technical resources that owns a single or group of technical environments (Service Areas) and have technical abilities on all or most of the technologies in that specific area. This role also requires a wider range of general knowledge on non-technical IT disciplines. The technology area owners are ultimately accountable for the overall reliability (Availability, Performance, Capacity and Service Continuity) of the technical services provided through the specific technology area.

Key Requirements:
Qualification/ Certification
  • ITIL v3 or MOF v4;
  • Advanced Technical qualification for Accountable Service areas;
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Exchange, Blackberry, Zantaz EAS (Mail Archiving), Office Communication Server, Lync, Sharepoint (infrastructure essential & development beneficial) & Rightfax;
  • Minimum of 3 Years experience in Infrastructure & Application Architecture; IT Service Management (ITIL, MOF, ISO9000, ISO 27001/2) & Technical Solution Deployments;
  • Minimum of 5 Years experience in Technical Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis;
  • Minimum of 1 Year experience in Project Management;
  • Minimum of 2 Years in Resource Management;
  • Advanced reporting skills (word and Excel) & scripting skills will be beneficial.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Assigned to lead & manage the technical delivery of the relevant technology area;
  • Accountable for the overall reliability(availability, performance, capacity and service continuity) of the technical service provided throughout the specific technology area;
  • Perform incident management activities by ensuring quality is maintained by maintaining 100% SLA, provide updates, perform root cause analysis and ensure all actions are completed;
  • Perform request fulfilment activities by providing updates, maintaining 100% SLA;
  • Perform change management activities by ensuring changes are prepared, tested and approved for systems in the technology area;
  • Perform asset and configuration activities by keeping an updated set of data by configuring changes, maintaining a complete and accurate system configuration document;
  • Perform knowledge management & capacity management activities;
  • Perform performance management activities by ensuring performance monitoring is done as specified by all team members, and conducting service failure analysis and validating implemented recommendations;
  • Perform availability management activities by producing recommendations, plans and design guidelines; conducting service failure analysis; investigating and recommending resolutions; and scheduling and conducting testing;
  • Ensure a single point of ownership in the implementation of standards and service improvement;
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for systems in the technology area;
  • Perform event management activities by using the monitoring systems to identify, analyse and resolve events on a daily basis.
