Job Description:
Team Leader - Trade Support
Introduction
Be responsible for on-the job training of team and personal development plans and assist in recruitment, mentoring and coaching of team members and the instruction of settlement to the relevant custodians for a Team Leader role specialising in trade support. A good understanding of MS Office, IT packages and knowledge of international securities markets is advantageous for this role.
Description
Be accountable for the matching and settlement of transactions executed in all South Africa and Namibia Markets
Liaise with clients and third parties to resolve unmatched trades: Ensuring that all settlement instructions reach the custodian timeously and that all trades are committed for settlement within the required market timelines
Be accountable for investigation and resolution of unmatched transactions or failed trades
Ensure that all queries raised by internal and external clients are resolved within required timelines and to the required standard
The reporting of unmatched trades to clients within required timelines and driving resolution thereof
Maintain professional relationships with all third parties including custodians, brokers and vendors
Be responsible for on-the job training of team and personal development plans and assists in recruitment, mentoring and coaching of team members
Supervise the duties of the fund administrators as outlined by operating processes around confirmation and settlement of local trades across all assets classes
Manage the daily workload and deliverables of the team to ensure that all are met within the required cut off times
Interact and engage actively and efficiently with team members
Demonstrate continuous efforts in personal development and self- improvement
Attend to and deal with all audit queries relating to the team
Monitor and manage the performance of the team as well as individual team members
Be responsible for design and implementation of new services and / or client taken on
Actively partake in Projects impacting Trade settlement
Act as signatory as per operational requirements
Profile
A relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of 5 years' applicable experience
Knowledge of most major custodial systems as well as OMGEO is a distinct advantage
Sound understanding and experience of trade settlements
Experience in using Decalog and trade matching applications are an advantage
A high attention to detail and structured approach to work
A good understanding of MS office and IT packages (particularly Excel)
Knowledge of international securities markets is essential
