A Pharmaceutical Company (Complementary industry) based in Centurion has a position available for a Technical and Product Development Officer (must be a Dietician, with Research and Development exp)

To provide product development support in terms of all specified and non-specified elements that contribute towards the development and improvement of various products. Provide support in a professional capacity as Dietician to other departments.

Qualifications:
A Dietetics tertiary qualification
Honours will be an advantage
Must be a Registered Dietician (at HCPSA)

Experience:
At least 3 years’ experience in research and development in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or food industry or related field within a technical capacity.
Experience in the complimentary medicines field within a technical capacity will be an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of new product development focussed on safety, efficacy and quality of the product.
Ability to analyse and interpret data (related to journal articles, monographs etc.)
Technical trend analysis related to new product technologies.
Knowledge of and experience in the food (labelling) law – compulsory.
Basic knowledge of regulatory (medicines control council) requirements would be desirable.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good computer literacy in Microsoft applications especially MS Excel (compulsory) and MS Outlook
Administrative, Strong organising and problem-solving skills

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
Providing scientific and/or dietetic support to all departments within the organisation, and supplying advice and input to the Marketing, Sales and Customer care functions.
Product development support: Development of products in line with current regulations, insuring optimal formulations at an affordable price to the consumer.
Improve current products in terms of quality, efficacy and safety while in line with the current regulations at an affordable price to the consumer.
Provide support with quality technically correct information supply (including all packaging) to consumer through all communication channels while still in line with the current regulations.
Assist in compiling dietetic tools that can support the Marketing, Sales and Customer care departments.
Assist with clinical trials: identifying resources, managing the project and implementing the data attained within the company (if and when required).
Contact research and use various methodology which include the analysis and interpretation of data in the mainly public domain (if and when required).

Basic salary : approx. R20 000 + M/A + Provident Fund + Bonus (negotiable depending on exp)
