Business Unit Sales Leader – PC & PD Pumps

1. JOB PURPOSE

Developing the strategy and achieving Progressive Cavity (PC) and Positive Displacement (PD) Pump sales growth targets through market research and developing and growing a client base in South Africa and other African countries. Advising and recommending products and / or spares, following up on leads,

quotes, orders placed and delivery commitments to ensure client satisfaction in line with service level requirements.

2. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Sales

1. Developing a sales and market penetration strategy for the Rapid Allweiler PC & PD Pumps

2. Executing the strategy

3. Planning and scheduling appointments with existing and potential clients – especially engineering consultants;

4. Ensuring preparation for appointments by compiling relevant information including brochures, pump information and / or pricing;

5. Conducting appointments including site inspection where relevant;

6. Building client relationships and improving the company’s reputation by meeting commitments, keeping promises and ensuring client satisfaction;

7. Recommending product solutions and obtaining pricing from internal sales team;

8. Liaising with external suppliers for relevant pricing where required;

9. Researching current projects and identifying potential clients to generate sales leads;

10. Liaising with internal sales team for pricing and delivery information;

11. Monitoring sales to ensure targets are met;

12. Following up on relevant quotes on a weekly basis;

13. Following up on all orders on a weekly basis;

14. Ensuring all sales information is captured on the CRM;

15. Following up on outstanding payments with clients;

3. KEY PROCESSES

Client Service

1. Working with internal teams to determine delivery, procurement and assembly of products to meet client requirements;

2. Liaising with relevant departments to solve queries and resolve problems;

3. Undertaking research on product developments and ensuring up-to-date knowledge on industry developments

4. Updating and maintaining client database with relevant information on CRM system;

5. Attending sales meetings and providing input as and when required;

6. Collaborating with external suppliers or project teams to provide a full-service solution to clients;

7. Sourcing alternate pumps and spares where required;

8. Building client relationships though targeted client entertainment and public relations activities, including delivering invitations, following up on attendance etc.

6. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Educational Qualification & skills

Matric with mathematics

Sales or Marketing Diploma or B Tech Degree preferable

Technical

Qualification

Engineering qualification for technical sales

Experience

2-3 years sales experience in PC and/or PD Pumps preferably in an engineering / industrial environment.
