Established Company in the Technical Sector has a rare opportunity for an experienced Technical Buyer to join their team. You will be responsible for the buying function for multiple divisions where you will have the opportunity to bring your “out of this world” negotiating skills to the fore.

Requirements:

Matric
Certificate or Diploma in Procurement / Supply Chain Management
Buying experience within the technical / mining sector (3 – 5 Years)
Experience working with international suppliers
Experience on Syspro will be highly advantageous

Skills Required:

Ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritise as required
Strategic in finding cost effective solutions to maximise efficiency of purchasing process
Have proven negotiation skills
Accurate and efficient verbal and written communication skills
Possess knowledge of material work planning and methods in engineering processes and procedures

Duties will include:

Buying of raw materials
Buying of tooling for CNC machines and grinders.
Buying of consumables.
Buying of stock items
Hiring of compressors.
Sourcing of buy-out items for sales department. (mine / quarry equipment)
Capturing supplier & purchase invoice (Syspro)
Creating purchase orders
Dealing with price queries.
Negotiating best quality goods at the lowest prices
Arranging order approvals.
Sourcing new suppliers locally & internationally.
Assisting with weekly production planning.
Assisting with quarterly stocktakes.
Following up on backorders.
Expediting orders
Planning drivers daily routes for all collections & deliveries.
Monitoring deliveries
Ensuring Company vehicles are maintained
