A progressive Healthcare Company who is passionate about providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Technical Head: Health Systems Strengthening who will lead the district-level implementation of the health systems strengthening strategy in two districts in the North West Province, and in Region F of the City of Johannesburg, including strategy and stakeholder relations. This is a senior manager-level position.

Education, Training and Experience
• MBBCh, Masters or Postgraduate degree in Public Health
• Minimum 8 years’ senior management experience of complex programmes
• Post graduate degree in a related field.
• Experience working in a research environment.
• Demonstrated leadership, management and change management ability, including the ability to manage a diverse team.
• Proven ability to manage relations with internal and external stakeholders, such as DoH and other partner organizations.
• Positive, energetic team leader with an ability to adapt to complex situations, manage stress, deliver goals pro-actively.
• Organized with a thorough and accurate approach to work.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to navigate complicated situations
• Excellent levels of written and verbal English communication skills at a senior level.
• This post requires the candidate to travel locally and internationally.

Key performance areas
• Oversee and continually monitor the implementation of the HSS strategy in three districts in the North West and in Johannesburg.
• Conduct project reviews and assessments to determine progress of implementation plans.
• Write grant proposals, protocols and ethics applications in order to fund and carry out studies.
• Develop publications and present research activity findings and outcomes at conferences.
• Maintain effective communication with local, regional and international collaborators and stakeholders.
• Act as a point of contact for the relevant technical area for the DoH, partner organisations and donors.
• Manage the outputs of staff on your team to ensure optimal staff utilisation and maintain sound labour relations.
• Coach and train team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation.
• Lead meetings with specialist teams and other stakeholders
