A progressive Healthcare Company who is passionate about providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Technical Head: Monitoring & Evaluation to lead the formulation of the technical strategy in line with the Programme and Organisational objectives and oversee the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans at an organizational level

Key performance areas
• Oversee the development and implementation of a monitoring & evaluation strategy within national and international guidelines
• Participate in the development of an external strategy at provincial, national and international level
• Conduct project reviews and assessments to determine progress of implementation plans
• Oversee activities of various M&E Portfolios including; programme monitoring, data quality, operations research, mHealth and HMIS
• Monitor the effectiveness of capacity building interventions of the district teams and DoH stakeholders
• Write grant proposals, protocols and ethics applications in order to fund and carry out studies
• Develop publications and present research activity findings and outcomes at conferences
• Maintain constant communication with local, regional and international collaborators and stakeholders
• Act as a point of contact for the relevant technical area for the DoH, partner organisations and donors
• Manage the outputs of subordinates to ensure optimal staff utilisation and maintain sound labour relations
• Coach and train team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation
• Lead meetings with specialist teams and other stakeholders

Education, Training and Experience
• Masters or Postgraduate degree in Public Health or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years’ senior management experience of complex monitoring and evaluating programmes
• Post graduate degree in a related field
• Experience working in a research environment
• Demonstrated leadership, management and change management ability, including the ability to manage a diverse team
• Proven ability to manage relations with internal and external stakeholders, such as DoH and other partner organizations
• Positive, energetic team leader with an ability to adapt to complex situations, manage stress, deliver goals pro-actively
• Organized with a thorough and accurate approach to work
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to navigate complicated situations
• Excellent levels of written and verbal English communication skills at a senior level
• This post requires the candidate to travel locally and internationally
