A Fishing manufacturing Fish Processing company is looking for a Quality Manager Technical Manager to join the operations manufacturing team in the Western Cape, Southern Suburbs. You will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and managing quality operational strategies and plans within a fast-paced production facility to ensure that products are produced according to customer requirements.
This position will report to the Operations Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage, maintain and improve our current Food Safety System (FSSC 22000).
• To ensure that systems are developed and implemented to reduce variability and improve product and service quality
• Audit quality control systems- final & in-process quality systems
• Implement and manage the quality control environment
• Lead and assure the integrity of the Quality Measurement Systems
• Protect organization reputation and product integrity
• Drive systemic performance improvement in the department
• Lead the quality and integrated systems management in the department
• Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
• Quality regulations implemented
• Statistical Information System of measurement implemented
• Report on Customer complaints
• Products dispatched meet end product specification(s)
• SOP’s and related documents are generated, maintained, followed to ensure effectiveness
• Plan internal audits
• Ensure corrective, preventative & improvement actions are implemented

Required Skills/Experience

Diploma in Food Technology
5-8 Years’ experience in quality management in FMCG, preferable fishing industry
Good understanding of the principles and practices of Manufacturing Excellence
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
Excellent abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
Proven problem solver with the ability and confidence to make decisions under pressure
