Our client is a lighting company specialising in LED technology. The company is design oriented and manufactures standard and customised product solutions for the architectural, rail, commercial and industrial industries. This is a rapidly growing and highly innovative business with a young and energetic sales and engineering team.

We are looking for a young and dynamic individual with a flair for sales. An individual who has excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic combined with high enthusiasm and a pure drive to push the envelope and exceed their individual targets. This individual needs to have a passion for succeeding, to be able to identify and turnaround opportunities, to independently lead their projects and simultaneously be manageable. The successful candidate will form part of a close knit team, which is progressively growing. The primary focus for this position is generating new business in order to accomplish the National Sales objectives and targets, the opportunity for the right candidate is significant. Any experience in solution/project selling will be an advantage.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Searching for new clients who could benefit from company products or services
Experience and familiarity with selling to the Architectural, Consulting Engineering, Interior Design, Property Development sectors
Knowledge of the lighting, energy efficiency and renewable energy markets
Managing and interpreting customer requirements – listening to clients to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs
Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers
Communicating the customer’s requirements to the engineering team so that projects are clearly scoped and specified
Self-motivated, people sensitive, results oriented.
Project managing implementation of lighting solutions with customers
Liaising with clients and their electricians regarding most efficient and preferred installation method
Keeping constant communication with the Cape Town team to improve knowledge on products
Research all aspects of lighting so that you improve and develop your knowledge
Working on clearly set out, accurate client quotations
Communicate to the production team to ensure that the work for the clients is tracked and sped through the system
Offering after-sales support services
Administering client accounts
Preparing own sales reports for management meetings for progress on all projects
Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
Liaising with other members of the team and technical experts
Solving client queries (including problem solving)
Providing training and producing support material for other members of the team
Any other task that management may reasonably assign to you

Resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles and will be adept at the implementation of practical solutions
Tertiary education an advantage
