A reputable Engineering Company based in Port Elizabeth requires an individual dedicated to service delivery to occupy the role of a Technical Sales Consultant. You will be responsible for growing the current revenue base against set targets. The incumbent will also be required to develop new growth points in the region.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Profitable Revenue and service growth of key account clients
  • Strong relationships at various levels of key account clients and good knowledge of client operations and strategy.
  • Contract management
  • Effective communication & liaison at all levels within the organization
  • Sound knowledge of management practices, technologies, legislation, minimum requirements, competitors and major industries in which Key accounts operate.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Financial & administration

  • Ensure annual profitable revenue growth against set targets.
  • Ensure profitability of all Key accounts.
  • Pricing of key quotes, tenders and proposals.
  • Revenue budgeting & forecasting
  • Submit monthly reports indicating terminations, cleanups, new business, and existing business.

 Contract Management

  • Ensure all contracts and agreements (Operational, SLA, On-site) are in place and accurately loaded on the system.
  • Monitor Contract anniversary, expiry and annual price adjustment
  • Ensure a signed copy is on file
  • Ensure detailed completion of paperwork such as credit applications, data sheets etc

 Customer Focus

  • To be the first point of contact for all waste management queries.
  • Anticipate customer needs and suggest solutions. Consult with Industry Solutions to develop alternative technologies which may assist the customer to minimize/recycle or reuse.
  • Have firsthand knowledge of the Customers Environmental Strategy and Commercial and Operating strategy.
  • Be innovative in the development of customer solutions
  • Formulate sales and technical strategies to meet and improve on customers’ requirements for waste solutions.
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction by optimizing client service levels
  • Drive delisting opportunities
  • Ensure all assessments and route audits are done on a regular basis to ensure that the correct product offering is sold in line with clients changing needs and that costing is accurate and profitable.
  • For new business or services, assessing vehicle access is critical as well as accurate sample taking.
  • Be involved with client entertainment, including functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Be the point of contact between the Company and customer personnel to ensure efficient client management at all levels.

Business Process

  • Infiltrate key Customer organizations with a view to becoming a business partner
  • Ensure the appropriate type of service is offered to meet the customers’ needs
  • Maximise the clients satisfaction while obtaining the required minimum returns  for providing the service
  • Ensure hidden opportunities are identified and developed
  • Monitor and assess  client service levels
  • Keep up to date with current legislation and minimum requirements
  • Assist in special projects regarding new services offered or any other sales projects

Communicate & liaise effectively at all levels within the organisation

  • Liaise with operational personnel on service quality
  • Liaise with finance and debtors on invoice billing quality and debtors days.
  • Liaise with Technical disposal solutions on technical queries and solutions.
  • Network with people at all levels.
  • Be a confident Presenter

Market Focus

  • Gather market and competitor information to assist in establishing market trends and developments.
  • Be up to date on best environmental practices within the key accounts industry, both locally and internationally
  • Be aware of potential competitor activity at Sales Customers.
  • Utilize market trend and development information to effectively position the Company's products and solutions within the region.

Compliance to operational and legal requirements with regard to Health and Safety.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric
  • Sales related qualification
  • 3 + years sales experience
  • Proven track record in sales service industry 
  • A valid Code 8 Drivers license
  • Own vehicle
  • Strong communication skill (both written and verbal)
  • Good computer skills
