A well-established supplier of equipment to the food and beverage industries is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to proactively sell the company’s products and increase sales in the markets.

Responsibilities:

- Proactively selling a wide range of Steel and other products
- Gaining competent knowledge and understanding of product features, advantages and benefits to be able to professionally represent them to
customers.
- Maximising profitable sales, finding a product that meets the customers’ needs
- Active customer care comprising of technical sales advice to customers, customer profiling, processing of customer orders and following up on
customer queries.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Liaising with key account customers
- Advising and giving the customer recommendations on necessary and optimised systems improvements, with focus on correct actions to be
carried out as well as carrying out technical customer reports.
- Ensuring that all quarterly and annual sales targets are met.
- Attending sales meetings to discuss customer reports.

Qualifications and Experience

- Matriculation / Grade 12 certificate
- A tertiary qualification in mechanical / technical field would be advantageous
- Previous technical sales experience or work experience as technician
- Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Requirements:

- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
- Ability to travel

Skills and abilities

- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans is essential
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and methodically drive process improvement.
- Good general knowledge of engineering concepts and / mechanical engineering.
- Possess excellent sales, communication and customer service skills.
- Result orientated with strong organisation skills.
