Ideally from: Pulp & Paper , Gypsum board industries, packaging industries, or similar.

Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting training needs analysis at shop floor level
• Identifying, planning and implementing training interventions with adherence to the training plan
• Conducting on-the-job training and assessments
• Coordinating the Learnership and Apprenticeship training activities
• Developing, maintaining and continuously improving training and assessment materials
• Developing and maintaining formal records for functional SOP’s for all employees as required by the Department of Labour
• Compilation of the Skills plan and ATR
• Performing administrative duties related to training and development
• Operational and technical support with close working cooperation with Operations.

The ideal candidate should have:
1. FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)
• A Btech in Pulp and Paper Technology/Chemical Engineering qualification
• Assessor certificate would be advantageous

2. WORK EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the pulp and papermaking environment
• Overall 8-10 years of working experience, the past 2-3 yrs as Technical Training Officer
• Experience in Competency Based Training would be a further advantage

3. PERSONAL QUALITIES
• Must have good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Must be a well-organized individual with attention to detail
• Have strong administrative abilities
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels
• Must possess initiative and have problem solving abilities
• Have the ability to supervise learners and transfer knowledge
• Ability to handle confidential material is critical (demonstrate high levels of trustworthiness and integrity)
