Technical Trainer, Springs.

FUNCTION: To be part of the Training department and provide technical training to the learners, mechanics and electricians of Employees, our clients and agents such that they can service and maintain as well as trouble-shoot and repair the Earthmoving products. To stay up to date with the technologies of these machines, attending technical training offered locally or by the international factories.

Matric or equivalent with Maths (Not maths-literacy), Science and English.
Computer literate.
A Responsible Male.
A valid driver’s license.
Will have to be declared fit – will be sent for a medical.
Must be a good communicator.
Must be able to work with people.
Must have leadership qualities.
Must be able to work both independently and within a team.
Must have qualified in a trade either as a Diesel mechanic, Earthmoving mechanic, or auto-electrician – Technical aptitude a must
Must have hands-on Earthmoving machine experience as serviceman
Training experience will be an advantage
Must be prepared to travel locally and internationally
Must be fully literate in English

R 26 000.00 per month.

A three month limited duration contract will be signed with the express purpose of determining the teaching and technical ability of the candidate.

The appointee will receive basic training locally and advanced training at the factories
The appointee will go through a certification program in the relevant factories.
Practical training will be on the job training.
Will receive assessor training if necessary.

Preparing and developing training material of a professional standard.
Preparing and developing Assessments.
Training of technical staff as well as the technical staff of customers and agents.
Training learners on the EMT machines.
Attend prescribed training (locally and overseas) on products and/or personal trainer development.
Keep up to date with products and relative technologies
Encourage, motivate and facilitate attendees / learners to master the material such that they can independently, efficiently and confidentially maintain products with understanding.
Promote products in conduct, speech and appearance.
Do technical training in the training centre (predominantly) and on sites where necessary
Develop and utilize simulators and models where possible.
Co-operate with fellow training centre colleagues as part of the training centre team
Help in everyday running of the training centre.
Writing of machine and training reports

The trainer will act responsibly at all times as to set an example to all learners.
Help in the keeping of an inventory of all equipment and tooling in the training centre.
Help in keeping the training centre maintained, clean and tidy at all times.
Making sure that the training session is timeously prepared for by ensuring the notes, learning material, facilities and presentations are ready, relevant and user friendly.
Do thorough subject matter preparation
Be punctual.
Deliver effective training.
Keep Records up to date and timeously completed and handed in.
Develop training models and simulators.
Report learner progress to management

The technical trainer will report to the training manager, or person acting as training manager.

The technical trainer will require;
A laptop and the necessary software, cables and programme keys.
Inverter, 24V to 220V for laptop charger.
Cell. Phone.

Work space

The technical trainer will be dressed clean and neat with long trousers and a shirt with no logo’s or messages on it. The same applies to any jersey or jacket. The exception will be with LAF issued clothing. Closed shoes with socks will be worn.
The necessary PPE will be worn at all times.

ADDITIONAL: Applicant to reside on the East Rand (no relocation allowance)
