Our client has a vacancy for a Technical Writer

Job purpose:
To deliver ICT services within the Innovation & Research department and pro-active distribution of research material to both government clients and the organisation’s business units so that all relevant information is updated and is available for informed decision making, and to write research documentation in a concise and easy-to-read manner for consumers of publications or in highly specialised language for experts in accordance with ICT standards.

Key responsibilities
•Support the Innovation & Research in developing and implementing Innovation & Research strategies and roadmaps (from an ICT Innovation & Research perspective) to ensure a comprehensive and integrated Research and Innovation function.
•Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of governance mechanisms for ICT Innovation & Research and monitor the adherence thereto so as to deliver quality products in a controlled environment
• Participate in innovation and research programmes / projects spanning multiple environments to ensure that it is successfully delivered and ensure programmes/projects manage procurement and maintenance projects so as to meet Innovation & Research service delivery commitments
•Provide pro-active ICT research services and distribution of research material to government departments and to the organisation’s internal business units so as to meet: ICT Innovation & Research service delivery commitments
•Provide basic research on public services and impact on citizens so as to meet ICT Innovation & Research service delivery commitments
•Provide research documentation in a concise and easy-to-read manner for consumers of publications or in highly specialised language for experts in accordance with ICT standards.
• Ensure that resources are kept abreast of the latest industry developments and ensure that appropriate technologies are used for knowledge management so as to ensure that innovation and improved productivity.

Qualifications and Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in an ICT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering).
•3-5 five years’ experience in research in the ICT field, including research in ICT technologies, market analysis, development, implementation and maintenance / enhancements of integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms with leadership, general management, and operational responsibility in a large corporate sector organisation.
•The experience must include 1-2 two years’ experience in ICT research within the corporate sector, including: Leadership with strong abilities in relationship management; Established a track record of managing staff (Cross-functional environment experience highly desirable); Research and published papers on IT; Demonstrated project management competency; and Research analysis of efficient and effective IT solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
