Our client has an exciting position for a Senior Foresight Specialist in the Landwards Systems group. This is a senior position and you will be responsible for scenario and mathematically based modelling for system level 4 and 5 technology effectiveness evaluation and the development of multi-criteria decision models.

Requirements
• MSc in relevant field of modelling and simulation for decision support;
• Accredited member of relevant local/ international society for modelling and simulation for decision support;
• 15 years' experience in scenario modelling and simulation;
• 10 years' experience and significant exposure to SANDF/Defence decision support;
• 8 years' experience and significant exposure to multi-criteria decision analysis;
• 8 years' experience and significant exposure to long term foresighting/ forecasting;
• Stakeholder management by establishing relationship with SANDF, SA industry and international SET role players;
• Visualisation methods and methodology through synthesis of simulation results data into information and presentation to decision maker in an easily interpretable form;
• Technical report writing through the documentation of models, evaluations and results;
• Application of soft issues/criteria to decision support models and capturing the human element (psychology and context) of decision making in models and simulations;
• Publication of papers and attendance and presentation of papers at conferences.
• Security clearance is a requirement for this position. South African citizenship only.

Responsibilities:
• Model scenario based system level 6 and 7 technology effectiveness evaluation;
• Effectively model system level 4 and 5 technology;
• Develop multi-criteria decision models;
• Develop and implement technology foresighting methodologies;
• Develop specific test protocols/methodologies for evaluation of concept scenarios and technology effectiveness;
• Participate and lead field evaluations for model verification;
• Actively contribute to and ownership of the strategic direction of the Land Systems group specifically and Landward Sciences in general;
• Manage local and international stakeholders (e.g. SANDF) with regard to scenario analysis and technology effectiveness requirements, expectations and decision support;
• Establish and maintain key stakeholder relations for contract R&D business development both locally and internationally;
• Transferring of key skills, capabilities and experiential knowledge to junior incumbents to ensure a pipeline of researchers and engineers;
• Proactive internal collaboration to exploit expertise across the group and the unit;
• Contribute to Landward Sciences strategic capability and knowledge management vision.
