Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ a Temporary Management Accountant for its operations in Polokwane, Limpopo.
The incumbent of this position will take full ownership and responsibility for managing the financial activities of the Agriculture division through cost control and highlighting variances to standards and areas of potential improvement. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a BCom qualification, with a minimum of 3 years financial management, budget processes, control and management and cost saving experience at a senior level. This position carries the grade of T12 and reports to the Senior Financial Manager: Agriculture. This position is on a contract basis and is based in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Results required
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the following results:
• Monitor expenses against budget and highlight over expenditure
• Communicate costs and production figures by farm per cycle to farm/area managers in monthly one-on-one meetings
• Produce monthly accounts by the fourth working day of each month
• Produce weekly production KPI reports
• Manage Broiler slaughter planning and report on farm results per house
• Ensure Agriculture Finance SOP’s are up to date and all staff understand and adhere to them
• Perform and manage certain admin functions
Critical Competencies and Skills
• B Com degree
• 3 years financial management, budget processes, control and management and cost-saving experience at a senior level
• Extensive knowledge and experience of the financial environment
• Good analytical skills and ability to take corrective action
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent report writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks
• Great attention to detail
