The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of test cases, execution of test cases, identifying defects and then correcting it before deploying to our production site.

Qualifications & Accreditations

A 3 year Diploma/ Degree with Information Technology being the core subject
ISEB / ISTQB Certification

Experience & Skills

Minimum of 2 to 5 years' testing experience
Proven experience in testing e-Commerce Websites, Windows Software Applications and/ or Database applications produced using VB, C#, Access, SQL Server
Detailed knowledge of manual testing and automated testing
Must be comfortable with testing complex user interfaces with a strong understanding of structured test methods and processes
Working experience with the following testing tools: HP QC, HP QTP
Understanding of requirements
Broad understanding of a testing methodology and be able to use structured techniques to solve fundamental problems within one’s own work

Key Performance Areas

Achieve IT/ Testing objectives

Preparation of the test plans and test scripts for each software component to demonstrate the business condition under test and to see potential results
Adhere to testing standards, quality processes and procedures
Liaise closely and collaborate with Software Testers, Analysts, Developers & Test Team Leaders to deliver high quality website to a specified timescale
Ensure that the work is carried out with the quality required and according to the predetermined schedule
Modification of test scripts
Review Business Requirements Specifications or Functional Requirements Specifications or Software Design Document and create test scripts
Perform support testing
Create and maintain regression test suites
Attend walk-throughs of new functionality
Carry out ad hoc tasks related to the tester function when requested to do so, which may include: assisting with User training; input and reviewing of training material and reviewing of specifications
Required to do ad hoc work after hours with test team for production deployment
Perform sanity testing and exploratory testing
Create, maintain and execute automated test suites
Assist with generating high and low-level test estimates
Assist in mentoring junior staff members within the Test teams
Perform reviews of test scripts, test scenarios and test cases
Actively participate in test learning sessions

Implement innovation

Conduct manual tests on different software, browsers and mobile devices specific for software
Implement approved test cases from developed test plans specific for software

Reporting

Provide regular (agreed time-frame) feedback to the Business Analyst, Project Manager and Development Team through the agreed channels, this would include reporting on defects and problem issues
Inform Test Team Leader of any delays in testing activities or problems arising from changes
